MTN STOPS BORROWING OF AIRTIME, CUSTOMERS DISSAPOINTED.
The MTN network has stopped the borrowing of airtime and data to its customers since yesterday.
Customers who tried to access the service where unable to as the service was down with no date of return.
A customer told us,
” I am very dissapointed with MTN. I am not owing them and they won’t let me borrow..I have important calls to make. What kind of trouble is this.”
Said another customer.
” I hope they restore it soon otherwise they will lose customers plenty.”
On Saturday, Nigerians were surprised to notice their debts to MTN had been wiped out. While people were jubilating, MTN announced it suffered a technical glitch and that all debtors still had to pay. Customers were unhappy for MTN being a kill-joy.
Many customers in the interim, also used the opportunity to borrow more from the network.
Source believe the MTN suffered a severe problem hence it had to be shot down to be corrected.
Said an IT source,
” I won’t say they were hacked but it calls for concern about the safety of their network entirely. They need to assure the public of the safety of their data base. This is more than borrowing people credit.”
