Produced by KAP Motion Pictures, the untitled film falls within the supernatural thriller genre and boasts a star-studded cast including Jimmy Jean-Louis, Bolaji Ogunmola, Olarotimi Fakunle, and Akorede Bobo. Afolayan’s latest creation is set to captivate audiences when it makes its debut in 2024. Additionally, fans can anticipate news about the release date for the follow-up series of the acclaimed film ‘Anikulapo.’
This announcement comes on the heels of Afolayan’s recent cinematic success with the movie ‘Ijogbon,’ which made its debut less than a month ago on October 13, 2023, garnering widespread attention.
‘Ijogbon,’ written by Tunde Babalola, delves into the lives of four teenagers portrayed by Ruby Akubueze, Kayode Ojuolape, Fawaz of Ikorodu Boiz, and Oluwaseyi Ebiesuwa, hailing from the rural village of Oyo Oke in southwest Nigeria. The story unfolds as they stumble upon a pouch of diamonds, leading to a series of unexpected events and thrilling encounters.
The film quickly became a sensation, amassing a remarkable 5.7 million hours of views from a total of 2.9 million viewers, as reported by Netflix. These impressive figures propelled ‘Ijogbon’ to the sixth spot among the most-watched non-English films globally between October 16 – 22, 2023.
