A COMMUNIQUE PRESENTED BY THE GOOD PEOPLE OF ASALGA ISSUED IN SUPPORT OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF GOVERNOR SIM JOSEPH FUBARA, GSSRS
The CONCERNED ASALGA PATRIOTS, a socio-Political group that represents the good people of Asalga on Monday, 11th December 2023 met in Buguma, Asari-Toru Local Government Area and issued an official statement in line with some resolutions reached by them on the above stated subject matter as below:
1. That we give a vote of Confidence to the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, DSSRS for his Policies formulation, implementation and developmental strides to better the lots of Rivers People. This vote of confidence represents a majority decision of the good people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area to support the policy of a leader from ijaw extraction whose interest is to protect the general good of all Rivers People in the State
2. That we the CONCERNED ASALGA PATRIOTS also use this medium to congratulate the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminilayi Joseph Fubara GSSRS, for his recent victory at the Appeal Court, an affirmation of the mandate given to him by the people of Rivers State in the last 2023 Governorship elections.
3. That we the CONCERNED ASALGA PATRIOTS by extension give our felicitations to His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara GSSRS for not only mobilizing Rivers People to the recent burial ceremony of the late King (Prof) T. J. T Princewill, Amachree XI ( Amayanabo of KALABARI Kingdom), but also personally been in attendance. This is a testimony of his love for Rivers State and desire to unite Rivers People. Thank you His Excellency for proactively carrying on with the Emohua-Kalabari link Road project in spite of the obvious distractions from some perceived enemies of Rivers State.
4. That we consensually congratulate the Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, DSSRS in his election as the substantive Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. We also use this medium to reprimand, rebuke and scold some members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who recently defected to the ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) to retrace their steps following their involvement in the recent attempted impeachment of the Governor of Rivers State. The are requested to immediately show remorse or face “Recall”.
5. That we also use this opportunity to advise the Nigerian Police and other Law enforcement Agencies in Rivers State to be professional in their work, avoid to take sides with either party, an act which may breach the existing peace in the State. We also frown at the silence of the Nigerian Police over the recent sitting of the Hon. Martins Amaehule’s faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly Members against an operative order of Court, restraining both factions from doing so.
