EFCC Set to Prosecute NAF Officers Arrested in Kaduna
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced its intention to prosecute the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers who were arrested in Kaduna State. This comes after a clash between the EFCC and some military personnel at the Kaduna Command of EFCC on Friday, where the military personnel attempted to free some arrested fraudsters.
Following the clash, the NAF officers were arrested and detained at the EFCC command. However, they were later released on administrative bail in accordance with the bail procedures of the commission.
In a statement, the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, provided an update on the matter and stated, “The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, personnel released on administrative bail by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, November 17, 2023, will be charged to court at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation. The Commission reiterates the fact that no one is above the law and due process will be followed in bringing the case to a conclusion.”
It is clear that the EFCC is committed to ensuring that justice is served, sending a message that no individual, regardless of their position, is exempt from the law.
