In a significant development, the former Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail by Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court Abuja.
The bail, set at N300 million, requires two sureties in like sum, each possessing certificates of occupancy and titles of properties within the prestigious Maitama District in Abuja.
As part of the conditions, Emefiele is obliged to surrender all his travel documents to the court’s registrar and is mandated to stay within the Abuja Municipal Council. The bail comes four months after the Federal High Court in Lagos granted him bail in the sum of N20 million.
