In a recent announcement, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially confirmed the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi as the substantive Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The disclosure was made by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information at the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in a statement released on Friday.
According to the statement, Adeniyi’s appointment is set to commence from 19th October 2023, aligning with the existing provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR). President Tinubu expressed confidence in Adeniyi’s capabilities, urging him to leverage his wealth of experience to excel in his new role.
This appointment comes as part of a series of strategic decisions made by the administration to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of government agencies. Adeniyi’s tenure will see him stepping into the shoes of former Comptroller-General Hammed Ali, marking a new chapter for the Nigeria Customs Service under his leadership.
