In a recent development, Pastor Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has appointed Mr. Michael Effiong James, the Editor of Ovation International Magazine, to the esteemed position of Senior Special Assistant (SSA) for Lagos Liaison.
This appointment, along with the selection of 49 others as Special Assistants and Personal Assistants in media, was officially confirmed in a letter dated November 1, 2023, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah. These appointments are effective immediately.
Michael Effiong James is a highly regarded media expert with a wealth of experience in news reporting and media administration. He has built a distinguished career in journalism and has gained extensive exposure through his professional travels. Effiong has demonstrated unwavering dedication as the editor of Ovation, a prominent celebrity journal in Africa, for nearly two decades. His consistency and commitment have earned him recognition and respect within the media industry.
Effiong is an alumnus of the University of Lagos and holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Guild of Editors, the International Press Institute, the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, and the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria. Additionally, he is an accomplished Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, having previously served as the President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja South. Currently, he holds a Rotary International Regional position. Effiong is happily married and a proud father of two children.
