In a dazzling ceremony held in Lagos on Sunday, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State took center stage, claiming the coveted Governor of the Year award at the prestigious PINK Awards.
The event, which marked its fifth anniversary, also honored other luminaries, including Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Sen. Adenigba Fadahunsi, a beacon of generosity, named Philanthropist of the Year 2023.
Dr. Joe Odumakin, the driving force behind the PINK Awards, emphasized the values of Prestige, Integrity, Nobility, and Knowledge.
She passionately called on the youth to emulate the virtues exhibited by the awardees, stressing the importance of simplicity, humility, courage, and resilience.

Representing Governor Makinde, Chief of Staff Segun Ogunwuyi acknowledged the honor and pledged an unwavering commitment to intensify efforts in uplifting the people from poverty to prosperity.
The star-studded event also saw Oba Sulaimon Raji, Oniba Ekun of Iba, clinching the Outstanding Traditional Institution Humanitarian Icon Award for 2023, Chidi Mokeme named Best Actor of the Year, Righteousman Erhabor crowned Gospel Icon of the Year, and Alhaja Salawa Abeni receiving the Legendary Award.
Prince Adebiyi Adesina was honored with the Transformational Impact Award, solidifying the night as a celebration of excellence and achievement.
