Nigerian Army to Conduct Battle Simulation Exercise in Abuja, Urges Residents Not to Panic

Date:

The Nigerian Army has announced that it will conduct a battle simulation exercise on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 and 26, 2023, at the 7 Guards Battalion Obstacle Course in Lungi Barracks, Maitama, Abuja.

The exercise will involve real-time battlefield simulations and activities as part of the Inter Formation Combat Platoon Obstacle Crossing Competition 2023.

In a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Njideka Agwu, residents of Maitama, Asokoro, AYA, and surrounding areas were assured that the exercise is a planned training activity and there is no cause for alarm. Agwu urged the public not to panic but to go about their normal business during the exercise.

While acknowledging that there will be large battle sounds as part of the training, Agwu emphasized that these sounds are in line with the exercise and should not raise any security concerns.

All necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure the exercise is conducted safely.
