NIMC Clears Backlog of Over Two Million NIN Modification Requests

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has successfully addressed a backlog of more than two million National Identification Number (NIN) modification requests, according to a statement from the Acting Director-General, Engineer Abisoye Coker-Odusote, on Wednesday.

Expressing NIMC’s commitment to providing secure and universally recognized identity documentation for all Nigerians, Coker-Odusote acknowledged the challenges faced by citizens in the past and commended their patience. She emphasized that NIMC’s dedicated teams worked tirelessly to process the backlogs, ensuring a streamlined experience for obtaining NINs.

“We will continue to work strenuously at all our centres to ensure that whatever requests that are outstanding are cleared as soon as possible,” Coker-Odusote added.

Furthermore, the NIMC DG highlighted the agency’s commitment to enhancing communication channels, stating that a robust system was being established to log complaints and resolve issues promptly. She also emphasized NIMC’s investment in world-class infrastructure to improve services for the Nigerian population.
