Dr. Michael Adaralewa, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State, has issued a directive for a crackdown on vandals targeting transformers and power distribution facilities in the state.
This order was disclosed by the command’s spokesman, DSC Samuel Opebiyi, during a statement on Wednesday in Ibadan.
Expressing concern over the increasing cases of vandalism in various parts of Oyo State, Adaralewa instructed all area commanders and divisional officers to take decisive action against those involved in such activities. Additionally, he ordered an enhanced security presence at worship centers on Fridays, Sundays, and throughout the yuletide season to prevent a potential surge in criminal activities.
The commandant commended the officers for their dedication and urged them to maintain a high level of professionalism in their duties. Adaralewa emphasized the importance of being vigilant as the year approached its end and assured the people of Oyo State of NSCDC’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the festive season and beyond.
The meeting also included the review of reports from various departments, units, and divisions under the command, with discussions focused on strategies and directives to enhance the effectiveness and service delivery of the NSCDC in Oyo State.
