Fatal Collision Involving Trailer and Canter Truck Shakes Potiskum-Nangere Road
In a devastating incident along the Potiskum-Nangere road in Yobe State, 8 travelers lost their lives while 52 others sustained injuries in a collision between a trailer and a canter truck.
The accident occurred as the travelers were en route to the popular Potiskum cattle market, with one of the trucks losing control.
According to eyewitness Adamu Hassan, the deceased have been evacuated to Potiskum Specialist Hospital, while the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Sabon Garin, Nangere.
Though the officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state have yet to confirm the incident, personnel from both FRSC and the State Emergency Management Agency were seen actively involved in evacuating the victims to nearby healthcare facilities.
The tragic accident highlights the need for increased vigilance and adherence to road safety measures to prevent such heartbreaking incidents on the country’s roads.
