Rivers girl Vanessa AMACHREE recently won Miss Also Nigeria 2023 crown. She tells us her story.

My name is Vanessa Amachree , I am 24 years old, a nursing student at lead city university , I am the current Queen Of Aso Nigeria 2023/2024 which was held at the FCT Abuja on the 5th of November 2023. I represented Rivers state, My experience at the pagaent was wonderful , i camped with other beautiful girls for 3 days , we all put the energy and hardwork to our rehearsals and worked together in unity and love, we are all winners because standing on that stage with the crowd and putting efforts isn’t something that is easy, each one brought something unique to the competition .
On the pagaent day I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness, wondering if i would be chosen as the winner but when I saw my mum , little brother and my mum’s friend in the crowd I felt so calm, their love and support was massive, they came from Rivers State port harcourt to Abuja to support me and that did a lot for me , and I said to myself Vanessa You Got This.
I made sure I had fun on that stage from the first outing to the last outing , my confidence grew with each round , I felt like I was truly in my element, showcasing my talents, speaking confidently on stage, and radiating beauty and grace. But it was nerve-wracking as the final round approached, and the tension amongst i and the other contestants was palpable. I gave it my all and my best and put the rest in the hands of God . Finally, the moment arrived and the judges announced the winner of the pageant ‘Miss Rivers State’ the joy in my heart was so much , I felt so blessed and grateful for the opportunity to represent my state .
I wouldn’t say I was shocked but I was overwhelmed with gladness hearing my state I represented called as the winner .
Some people have an inadequate perception about what it means to wear a crown and simply attribute it to the physical beauty of the woman wearing it, when it means so much more. I can say from my experience that there is more to a pageant queen than her beauty,
This platform has given me an edge to being an advocate of positive change, it goes beyond just the glitz and glamour of a pageant crown. I plan on having my foundation/NGO , and it will be charity for all , i have plans to go for international pageants which will bring about more exposure and sharing innovative ideas.
My future plans a few I have said watch the space for the Others . And words of advise to people out there “’Always believe in yourself,
work hard, and never be afraid to dream big. They will come true in the most beautiful way.
