Betrayal of Wisdom: ‘Rivers Elders’ Forsake Truth to Bow at the Feet of Nyesom Wike
By; Al Humphrey Onyanabo
How sad, we have a bunch of self-proclaimed “Rivers Elders” who have seemingly forgotten the true meaning of both leadership and elderhood. These individuals, who should be the embodiment of wisdom and truth, have decided to throw their support behind the one and only Nyesom Wike – a man who seems to think that trampling on the will of the people is a sport.
Oh, how our hearts sink at the sight of these supposed elders, tarnishing the esteemed reputation of our African communities. Instead of standing firm as pillars of righteousness, they have chosen to align themselves with the whims and fancies of Nyesom Wike, blindly following his every step down the treacherous path of deception.
It truly is a shame to witness these once-respected elders abandon the principles of democracy, willingly trampling on the voices of the majority. Their actions and words in this democratic setting are enough to make any person with an ounce of intellect cringe in embarrassment. It’s a disgrace to the sons and daughters of Rivers State worldwide, who can only watch their alleged leaders stumble and fall.
It’s high time for the families and children of these misguided elders to step up and call them to order. They must remind them of their duty to the people they are meant to serve, and that they are not mere pawns in Nyesom Wike’s twisted game. These elders need a reality check – a harsh awakening to the fact that their misguided support only leads to further disarray and chaos in our beloved Rivers State.

But fear not, dear citizens, for there is a glimmer of hope amidst this bleak situation. There exists a group called Rivers Elders and Leaders Forum, with great minds like Chief Rufus Ada George, Ms. Annkio Briggs and many others who have chosen to support the righteous revolt against godfatherism in Rivers State. These individuals, the true embodiment of wisdom and leadership, have seen through the charades and are standing together to fight for the voice of the people.
While our misguided “Rivers Elders” continue to stumble down the wrong path, these true leaders shine as beacons of hope. Let us rally behind them, for it is through their resilience and genuine commitment to justice that we can bring a much-needed change to our beloved state.
So, let it be known to these erring “Rivers Elders” that their shameful acts will not go unnoticed or unchallenged. The true leaders and sons and daughters of Rivers State stand ready to reclaim our voices, to champion democracy, and to restore honor to our once-respected name.
